It’s that time of year again, and I’m excited to have a new project to work on in time for nano! Fingers crossed that I don’t change my mind to work on a whole other project last minute like I usually end up doing. (((Maybe tho.)))
I don’t know that I’m aiming for 50k words as I have in the past, but I do want to use it to consistently write every day and put more words down. This year I’ve had a really hard time getting words down, and I’ve been comparing it to the year before that, when I was able to just knock out a lot of words without even really thinking about it. Having my full time job since college has been a huge adjustment, and even though I’ve put out two novellas this year, each time it’s really bowled me over with how much crunch it puts in my schedule. With the production that went into putting them out, I feel like all I’ve been doing is editing or writing towards an ending. I’m ready to write from the beginning of a story again, towards all the juicy scenes in the middle.
Marty Vee, my author bud and co-host of our podcast, Romance Writer’s Therapy, is going to be doing nano this year too, so hopefully we’ll be able to keep each other accountable!
I’d love to make more friends through nano, so if you’re participating, add me as a buddy! nanowrimo.org/participants/kateprior
